    Optical Plus

    Optical plus is a merger of three well known and respected independent practices in Northern Ireland. We are a family-owned business supported by a friendly, professional and caring team that is able to cater for the whole families eye care needs. We have made, and are continuing to make significant investments in our three practices to aid our eye examinations. We have a wide range of eyewear to choose from, something to suit all ages, budgets and tastes.

    We cater for both NHS and private patients. If you are uncertain whether you are entitled to an NHS sight test please contact us and we’ll answer any of your queries.

    Meet the Team

    Freda graduated from University of Ulster Coleraine in 2003. Freda has worked in a wide range of optical practices and has been the resident optometrist in Doris Optical since June 2019. She enjoys all aspects of optometry practice, in particular testing elderly patients.

    Freda Johnston- BSc (hons) Optometry

    Claire graduated from the University of Ulster Coleraine 2007. After completing her pre-registration year in 2008 she worked as an optometrist in practices across Belfast before joining the team at Optical Plus in October 2020. She enjoys all aspects of the job, particularly the challenge (and fun) of testing younger children.

    Claire Caulfield- BSc (hons) Optometry

    Shane graduated from the University of Ulster Coleraine in 2007. He has worked in a wide variety of optical practices across England and Northern Ireland and has a particular interest in sports vision.
